United Nations has declared 2023 as International Year of Millets (IYM 2023). The theme of the year is “Healthy Millets, Healthy People”. The goal of IYM 2023 is to raise awareness of the health benefits of millets and to promote the production and consumption of millet products. The Government of India proposed IYM 2023 to the United Nations to create domestic and global demand for millets. Millets have been part of the Indian subcontinent for centuries. India wants to position itself as a global hub for millets.

This course highlights the importance of millets in daily diet, various lifestyle disorders and its Ayurvedic aspects.
